Putrajaya Green City 2025

Low Carbon Putrajaya

The daily maximum temperature in Putrajaya is over 30 degree Celsius. By targeting 2 degree Celsius reduction to reduce the cooling demand inside the building & encourage people to walk/cycle within the city.

3R Putrajaya

Putrajaya has been utilizing a landfill waste disposal facility approximately 30km away outside the city boundary. Targeting to reduce 50% of final disposal of solid waste and 50% of GHG emission per waste.

 

 

 

Associated with the concept of green cities is management of renewable and non-renewable resources, management of waste and the reduction of the impact of greenhouse gases (GHG) such as carbon dioxide resulting from various human activities.

To achieve this objective as Putrajaya Green City 2025, for this purpose seven (7) keys focus introduced which is:

  1. Planning, Urban Design & Building;
  2. Integrating Nature into the Urban Fabric;
  3. Energy Usage;
  4. Water Usage;
  5. Transportation and Mobility;
  6. Solid Waste Management; and
  7. City Administration and Management.
